Sometimes it doesn't pay to get out of bed on Sunday's. I should have missed this one, most of the Cowboy players did.

Its been a long time since I can remember a butt kicking like this coming from the Redskins, a LONG time. The day started out bad, interception on first offensive play and just got worse. Before the 1st half of misery was over the Cowboys had turned the ball over 2 times and were trailing 28 to zip. The ball game was over before it even got started.

This was one of those trap games that young teams can fall into. They had just come off an emotionally exhausting win vs the Chiefs the previous Sunday. A game in which they did not play particularly well on defense but were around long enough to win it in the end. Then they travel on the road to a division rival fighting for a playoff spot and they come out flat. It happens, I will not put much weight on it.

The only question remaining for this Cowboy team is playoffs. They still have a decent shot at the playoffs but must win their remaining 2 games and get some help from other teams.

I think the playoffs would be a huge benefit to this team. I don't expect them to advace but playoff experience is important for next years team and the next!

Injuries; Rivera had a strained neck, Henry strained his neck. Witten suffered a concussion. Plus there were a lot of prides injured, at least I hope so.

Player of the Game; I didn't see anyone that deserved this mention.. no one!

Other players who deserve props; none

Grades:
Offense - D; Terrible is the only way to describe Sundays performance. 7 sacks allowed spells doom for any team. That coupled with 4 turnovers spells the worst performance this year, maybe in the Parcells era.
Defense - C; The defense did nothing special. No sacks, 1 turnover, that's it. The only stat on their side was only 1 of the 5 touchdowns allowed was from a drive longer than 30 yards. Can you say 'turnovers'!
Special teams - D; Missed field goal early cost us. Its hard to put a price on that kick. I don't think it would make much difference but you never know. 2 shanked punts didn't help either.

Did you notice? Lavar Arrington? where was he? The stat line says 1 tackle, nothing else.. I didn't see it.

Next game; Saturday December 24th in Carolina against the playoff bound Panthers. Certainly not an easy game. We will learn a lot about this Cowboys team on Saturday.
