Fleer has been around football cards since 1960. Fleer produced football cards from 1960 - 1963 but the only Cowboy cards from those years appear in 1961. In fact one of the most sought after Dallas Cowboy football cards today is the 1961 Fleer Don Meredith Rookie card! In the 1970's Fleer started producing team cards and produced about 3 or 4 team highlight cards of each NFL team from 1976 till 1988. In 1990 Fleer jumped back in the player card mix and produced its first of many sets. The 1990 Fleer set is easily available but the 1990 Fleer Update set is harder to come by and includes one of the top Emmitt Smith Rookie cards!
