The Dallas Cowboys trim their roster to meet the NFL's 53 man limit. Actually the Cowboys have cut down to 54, getting a roster exemption because of the 1 game suspension to Leo Carson.
No big surprises other than a few guys that made the team last year but not this year. The only real surprise is the Cowboys keep all 7 2004 Draft Picks.
On the list, Jamar Martin, 2002 draft pick. A promising Fullback who struggled on special teams and a Fullback has to be able to play special teams for coach Bill Parcells. Zuriel Smith was on the cut list, a nice punt returner and kickoff returner failed to impress the Cowboys this pre season, instead the Cowboys opted to keep rookie Patrick Crayton as their kick returner.
Other players on the cut list include, DT Jermaine Brooks, S Steve Cargile, S Tom Crowder, LB Ryan Fowler, TE Landon Trusty, FB Lousake Polite, WR Terrance Copper, Thomas Herrion, K Matt Bryant, and DE Ryan Wingrove.
Expect some of these guys to be signed to the practice squad also expect more roster moves as players become available after being cut by other teams.
