Dat Nguyen, LB from Texas A&M University, became the first Vietnamese American to Play in the NFL when he was selected in the 3rd round of the 1999 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Dat won the hearts of Cowboy fans with his hard nosed play and every down hustle. He earned a starting role in the Cowboys LB core by this 3rd season and led the Cowboys in tackles 3 times. Injuries caused him to miss half of the 2002 and 2005 seasons and would eventually force his retirement at the end of the 2005 season. Dat played in the NFL for 7 seasons, recorded 511 tackles, 6 sacks, 7 interceptions and 5 fumble recoveries. Dat returned to the Cowboys in 2007 as a LB Coach.
