Dan Reeves, RB from the University of South Carolina, was an undrafted Free Agent in 1965 and signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Dan was a very versatile player and set a Cowboy record with 16 touchdowns in 1966, 8 rushing and 8 receiving. He had over 1300 combined yards in 1966. Injuries limited Dan's abilities after just 3 seasons and he was never quite the same. He continued to play a limited role with the Cowboys until 1972. He retired from playing after 8 seasons. He rushed for 1,990 yards and 25 touchdowns plus he caught 129 passes for 1,693 yards and 17 touchdowns. After his playing days, Dan became an assistant coach under Tom Landry. After 8 seasons as an Assistant Coach, Dan was named the head coach of the Denver Broncos in 1981. Dan was the head coach in Denver for 11 seasons and led the Broncos to 3 Super Bowls. Dan was fired as the Broncos head coach in 1992 and became the New York Giants head coach in 1993. Dan led the Giants to the playoffs his first season in New York but struggled over the next 3 and was fired in 1996. Dan became the Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons in 1997 and led the Falcons to their first Super Bowl appearance in 1998. The Falcons struggled over the next 5 seasons, making the playoffs only once and Dan was fired during the 2003 season. Dan coached in the NFL for 23 seasons and won Conference Championships in both the NFC and AFC. He won 190 games as a coach. Dan holds the record of most Super Bowl appearances as a player and or coach with 9, unfortunately for Dan, his teams have only won 2 of those 9 games.
