Herb Adderley, CB from Michigan State, was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 1st round of the 1961 NFL draft and made his NFL debut in the fall of 1961. A running back in college, Adderley was behind Hall of Famers Jim Taylor and Paul Horning on the depth chart at running back. Coach Lombardi decided to use Adderley as an emergency corner back and in less than 1 year he became one of the best CBs in the league. Herb was named All Pro 5 times and selected to 5 Pro Bowls. Herb played in 4 of the first 6 Super Bowls and was the 1st defensive player to score a TD in a Super Bowl when he returned a Daryl Lamonica pass interception 60 yards for a touchdown in Super Bowl II. Herb was traded to the Dallas Cowboys just weeks before the start of the 1970 seasons and helped the Cowboys to 2 more Super Bowls in 3 years. Herb retired at the end of the 1972 season with 48 interceptions and 7 returned for Touchdown. In 12 seasons, Herb played on 7 NFL Championship teams. Herb was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980.
