Mike Vanderjagt, kicker from the University of West Virginia, played in the CFL in 1993, after college. He was inactive for 2 seasons and then returned to the CFL in 1996 and 1997. Mike also played in the Arena Football league in 1996. In 1998, Mike was signed as a free agent by the Indianapolis Colts. Mike quickly established himself as one of the best kickers in the league by hitting on 27 of 31 field goal attempts his rookie season. In 8 seasons with the Colts, Mike became the NFLs all time leading kicker by making 87.5 percent of his kicks (217-248). Mike signed with the Dallas Cowboys in the 2006 off-season. Unfortunately for Mike and the Cowboys, inconsistency plagued him throughout his tenure in Dallas, which lasted only half a season because of it. Mike was cut midway through the 2006 season because he was missing too many easy kicks.
