Rayfield Wright, Tackle from Fort Valley State University, was selected in the 7th round of the 1967 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys as a Tight End. Rayfield's versatility kept him on the roster the first few years as the Cowboys coach Landry looked for a place to play the lightning quick big man. In 1969, due to an injury to Ralph Neely, Rayfield got his first taste of the tackle position along the offensive line and the rest as they say, is History. Rayfield went on the play for 13 seasons, 166 games. He started at right tackle in 6 NFC Championship games and played in five Super Bowls, winning 2. He as named to the Pro Bowl team 6 straight seasons and from 1871-1977 he was first or second team all Pro. He was also co-captain of the Cowboys for 7 years. After his retirement, Rayfield was named to the All Decade team of the 1970s. He was enshrined into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2002 and in 2006 he got the ultimate prize by being selected for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame!
