Steve Pelluer, QB from the University of Washington, was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 5th round of the 1984 NFL Draft. Steve sat behind Danny White and Gary Hogeboom for a few seasons but an injury to Danny White in 1986 forced Steve into the starting role. Except for a few errant throws, Steve played well in 1986. He was back on the bench behind Danny White in 1987 but returned to the starting role in 1988. His numbers improved greatly in 1988 but he playing with the worst team in the league. The Cowboys drafted QB Troy Aikman with the first pick in the 1989 NFL draft and then they selected QB Steve Walsh in the 1989 Supplemental draft which spelled the end of Steve Pelluer's career in Dallas. Steve was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs where he played backup for the next 2 seasons. Steve's last NFL season was in 1990 although he did spend some time in NFL Europe. Steve played in the NFL for 7 seasons. He threw for 6,879 yards and 29 touchdowns over his career.
