Steve Walsh, QB from the University of Miami, was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1989 NFL Supplemental Draft. Steve saw plenty of action as a Rookie, replacing another Rookie QB Troy Aikman after an injury. Steve led the Cowboys to their only victory in 1989. The Cowboys were torn at first between Walsh and Aikman but a healthy Aikman didn't take long to make up their mind. The Cowboys traded Walsh to the New Orleans Saints in 1990. Steve played backup for most of his career, 3 seasons in New Orleans, 2 in Chicago, 1 in St. Louis, 2 in Tampa and his final season (1999) in Indianapolis. Steve played 11 seasons in the NFL, appearing in 81 games. He threw for 7,875 yards with 40 touchdowns.
